Summit County Animal Control, Utah is going mobile! Thanks to a generous donation from the Summit County Health Department, Animal Control officers are now protecting County trails by bike. Officer Root and Officer Nye, pictured here, say in the few weeks since they started riding they have found pet owners to be more approachable. "We love to talk to people. Unfortunately a lot of our interactions with the public are negative. We don't want it to be that way," said Officer Root. Officers are taking advantage of the friendly conversations to educate pet owners on proper pet care, animal husbandry, feeding, grooming, dog body language and off leash laws. Next time you're out with your pooch be sure to say hi!

I would also like to add. If you have free roaming cats in you're area make sure they have shelter, access to food and water and are ear tipped. Winters coming and they too should be cared for. If you don't want to help by caring for them. At least do not harm them or remove them. If they look sick or injured seek help. If you want to help donations are greatly appreciated for those who do provide care for free roaming cats. It's always out of pocket for caregivers. Make a difference
